Mass Schedules


We will have our annual Simbang Gabi from December 16-24 at 5AM, with a small breakfast served after at the 2nd floor clubhouse.


Please be advised that there will be no 7PM masses from the 16th-24th.
There will be a Christmas Day mass (Dec 25, Saturday) at 7PM and a Sunday mass (Dec 26) at 830 AM.


Christmas Eve Mass (Dec 24) is at 10PM


New Year's Eve Mass (Dec 31) is at 9 PM




Other news:

- Look out for the Village Christmas Party to be held on December 19, 6PM at the clubhouse. Wear your best hat/headgear and come in matching costume for the chance to win prizes! Be there for food and karaoke, fun and holiday cheer, friends and family!

- Also watch out for the Kaunlaran Street Bash on New Year's Eve after the New Year mass (Dec 31). Countdown with friends, family, and neighbor. Don't forget to share your blessings in a street-wide salusalo!

Trick or Treat 2010

Thanks so much for all those who attended the kids'halloween party on October 30. Despite the rain, there was plenty of fun to be had thanks to the coordinators, ladies' committee, hosts, and volunteers.

Holy Week Schedule

March 16, Sunday - Palm Sunday.

Mass will be held during the regular Sunday Mass time, 830 AM, at the chapel.

• Palms will be available, for sale, at the courtyard. P25 a palm.

March 18, Tuesday

There will be a pabasa in the chapel the whole day. Everyone is invited to join.


There will be no masses on the following days:

• Maundy Thursday
  
• Good Friday
  
• Black Saturday

**Regular mass schedules will continue from Easter onwards.

Way of the Cross

Everyone is invited to our Village Wide Way of the Cross.
Procession starts at 600 PM but please be at the chapel courtyard by 530 PM on Sunday March 9.

KVHA Newsletter Oct-Nov 2007 (Out Now!)

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

My news might be a little stale, but old news is better than no news. I mean to update you on the great events that were recently celebrated and will be celebrated in the months of October and November 2007. But before I begin, let me express my thanks to the KVHA Board and the Ladies’ Group for their wonderful cooperation and support in making our activities memorable.




I. October 4-13: Our La Virgen de Fatima Feast Day

If a celebration is not meaningful, success is nothing (per Fr. Cyril’s homily).

For me, our celebration was successful and not only meaningful, but blessed. To see our friends and neighbors united in spiritual pursuits, cooperation, and camaraderie is a healthy sign and gave a heartwarming significance to our activity.

Following the traditional procession, a concelebrated Mass was officiated by His Excellency, the Most Rev. Bishop Teodoro Bacani, Jr. DD, Bishop Emeritus of Novaliches, assisted by our active parish priest, Rev. Fr. Betbet Rabonza IV among other priests. Bishop Bacani’s nonchalant delivery of his homily captured the rapt attention of the audience, as he sprinkled his talk with bits of humor, to the enjoyment of his audience. It was a beautiful homily, to say the least – touching and stimulating. (Wish we could invite him to officiate our Simbang Gabi, so we won’t fall asleep.)

Maraming salamat po to all donors, sponsors, and supporters whose financial assistance funded our fiesta. The Area Chair Coordinator of Kabutihan St. was so overwhelmed by the voluntary donations of almost all residents of Kabutihan that she requested me not to forget to extend her personal thanks and gratitude for their magnanimity. Of course, the other areas – Kagandahan, Kasayahan, Kalayaan, Karilagan, Kapayapaan, Kaunlaran, Kariktan, and Kawilihan Lane — who also contributed generously despite the hard times, also deserve our deepest gratitude and thanks.

God bless all of them for their generosity!

Don’t you worry because I have already faxed to Heaven (c/o St. Peter) all the names of donors, sponsors, coordinators, supporters, etc. for his heavenly records.

Remember that whatever you invested for the support of the chapel will be returned to you a hundred fold. Our Virgen de Fatima will never forget you for whatever you have offered for her and the church.

As they say, “You can’t take your money to Heaven, but you can make an investment for eternity.” (Our Daily Bread)

Mind you, Heaven pays the highest interest rate.

II. October 28: Trick or Treat

Congratulations and appreciation for a job well done are being extended to the Ways and Means Committee Chair, Ms. Ruby Ramirez, and her jolly-good assistants, the black-cloaked Ladies’ Group members in their witch hats, the French parlor maid who sweeps imaginary cobwebs, the pretty clown who chose to be with the group instead of the lions and tigers in the circus, and to the guapong Jedi, Jojo MAGnetician, who thrilled the kids with various games, making them dance, princess-strut, run, duck-walk, and spider-crawl at his command.

All the kids were in colorful costumes.

One little baby, two years old, stole the show dressed like a newly hatched chick, all round and fluffy, who could hardly stand, and preferred to sit down beneath mother hen’s protective wings. A delightful Igorot boy flew in from Beguet wearing the customary g-string and headgear, probably thinking of completely discarding his g-string because of the rather muggy weather. Fashionable princesses from far away lands in their luxurious costumes, waiting for their likewise noble-looking prince escorts. The superheroes, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, were looking around for their companions, Wonder Woman and Robin, ready to fight off trouble when the need arose. Soldiers, beggars, vampires, monsters, beasts tramped through the streets of Kawilihan and haunted the clubhouse. A number of characters must have gone missing from Disneyland since all of them magically ended up in the mini-Wonderland that was our spooky Halloween clubhouse.

Games were many, with prizes galore! Food and drinks flowed freely hanggang-sawa.

The participating residences vied with each other in aesthetic and creative décor. There was a pirate ship that ran aground on Kagandahan St. and the ship captain and his fellow pirates were busy unloading the treasures and stock of foodstuff, distributing them to the amazed crowd in order to keep afloat so they can sail back to the Caribbean.

Indeed, this Halloween activity can be awarded a gold medal and Ms. Ruby Ramirez re-elected as Perennial Chair, until Dale grows up to be a man.

III. Tiangge Na – Bingo Pa – Sali Na

Three weeks from now, maghahanap-buhay naman tayo and enjoy it. The young negotiantes can line their pockets with a little money for their X’mas shopping. The village board, on the other hand, can raise a little extra to tidy up, clean and green the village surroundings in preparation for holidays.

Preparations for these two grand events are still underway.

The committees in charge are very busy doing their assignments (pro bono) to ensure success. Your cooperation in making these activities successful is earnestly enjoined.

We need extra funds for our other projects because our receipts from monthly dues and rental of facilities are barely enough to cover our basic expenses. 80% of our income is eaten up by security and personnel salaries. The Board, as trustees of the village, has to think of some ways to raise funds to maintain our prestige, as a kawili-wiling place to live in. If only our delinquents can pay up, we don’t need extra funding. Sana naman, their guardian angels will knock on their conscience and make them share with us, for after all, they receive the same services as the good payers. (Hoping – hoping!)

B. The BINGO affair
Date: Saturday, Nov.24 only
Venue: 2nd Floor Clubhouse
Time: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Prizes galore donated by concerned residents are awaiting you. Major prizes in cash are: P10,000 (1st prize) and P8,000 (2nd prize). Attractive minor, consolation, and raffle prizes that you would love to own have been collected. Buy your cards now and help to sell to your friends and relatives.

Before I forget, only the players will be admitted, as our space cannot accommodate a big crowd. (Sorry po, pasensya na muna. Siguradong enjoy naman kayo. Makakapag-shopping at snacking pa. Tara na!)

IV. Condolence

The village recently lost two of our respectable residents, Ricarda (Cording) Melendrez, a very sweet lady and church devotee, and Edmund Varona, past vice-president of the KVHA Board. They are our loss but Heaven’s gain. St. Peter is expecting them. Their names are indelibly etched on his heavenly record. Let us light up their way by our little prayers. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon them.

For their families’ consolation:
